Working for Autism Initiatives is more than a job; it’s a career that supports people to live life to the full and gives you opportunities to progress as far as you want to go.
Autism Initiatives have successfully supported large numbers of apprentices in a variety of vocational areas. Due to our organisational commitment to learning, development and support from our CEO, Andrew Grainger, we were asked to be Employer Ambassadors in 2014. As a highly recognised and committed employer we have attended many prestigious events in London and at the House of Commons.
Our permanent roles come with a wide range of generous staff benefits, here’s just a few of them:
Permanent and bank / relief opportunities to suit you.
John, a senior support worker explains how our training programme has helped him advance his career. “Since being enrolled on a vocational programme I have been promoted to senior support worker. The course helped me acquire new skills and knowledge, which has empowered me to coach and mentor other staff.”
If you’re not looking for a permanent role we also have some contracts available that offer even more flexibility for when it’s just not the right time for you to have a permanent job. These are know as Bank, Relief or Additional Support Worker roles. These staff still get really great training and support and there’s always the option to move to a permanent role should your circumstances change.
No two autistic people are the same and therefore no two working days with us are the same. We recruit, train and promote the right people to support those living with autism. More than just a job, you will have a true part to play in the lives of the people we support – helping them to live independently, enjoy a better quality of life and play an active role in their local community.
I have now worked for Autism Initiatives for just over 3 years, in that time I have gone from a support worker to a senior support worker to acting manager and now service registered manager. The career opportunities that are available here are second to none, and in my experience the support and encouragement I have received from my managers over the years has been fantastic.
